Who we are

Lowca helps you find lowcarb-friendly restaurants and food trucks in Belgium and the Netherlands. This policy covers lowca.be, this website, and the Lowca app on Android and iOS.

What we collect

Email and optional name if you create an account or join the waitlist.

Diet preferences, favourites, table tips, suggested places, and partner listings if you use those features.

Location, if you allow it, to show places near you. You can turn location off; we then fall back to Antwerp. We do not store a lasting movement history.

Light product analytics (which screen or action) so we can improve the app. No advertising ID.

Technical data needed to run the site or app (device type, app version, crash logs if we use them).

We do not collect medical records, weight, lab results, payment data, or an advertising ID in this version.

Why we use it

To run the product: map, search, favourites, account, partner claim.

To email you about launch or a password reset if you opted in.

To fix bugs and keep the service secure.

Legal bases: your consent (waitlist, location) and our legitimate interests in providing and securing the service. Accounts are processed to perform the contract.

Sharing

We do not sell your data.

The app does not show ads and does not use an advertising ID.

We may use hosting and analytics providers (for example Xano for the API, or crash reporting if we turn it on). They process data only on our instructions.

We share data if the law requires it.

Retention

Waitlist emails are kept until you unsubscribe or we no longer need them for launch.

Account data is kept while your account exists.

Location is used to show results; we do not store a movement history on the server.

Delete your account

In the app: Profile → Delete account. That removes your email, name, preferences, and favourites. Tips may stay on a place anonymously (without your email).

Without the app: email privacy@lowca.app or hello@lowca.be from the same address. We will delete your data within a reasonable time unless we must keep it by law.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your data, and object to certain processing, under GDPR.

Email privacy@lowca.app or hello@lowca.be from the address you use with us. We will confirm it is you before deleting.

You may complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority or the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Children

Lowca is for adults. We do not target children under 18.

Not medical advice

Lowca is a map and guide for eating out. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date above shows the latest version. We will note material changes in the app or on the site when needed.
